Job Description

The Driver is responsible for transferring raw materials and finished products between various warehouses, under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor. This role involves driving between the distillery and the warehouse, which are 1.8 miles apart, and assisting with inventory and other tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Transfer loads between the distillery and warehouse, located 1.8 miles apart.
• Check in at sites, conduct inventory counts, and operate forklifts for unloading and reloading.
• Monitor and record all vehicle transfers in compliance with DOT standards.
• Operate sit-down propane and electric forklifts daily for moving finished goods on pallets.
• Drive commercial delivery trucks, vans, and/or tractor-trailer combinations.
• Complete and submit all required paperwork, documenting the transfer of items.
• Ensure the accurate completion of Department of Transportation checklists.
• Report maintenance problems and accidents in a timely manner.
• Manually load and unload products from end loader trucks.

Essential Skills

• Valid Class A California Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Minimum of 2 years experience operating a commercial vehicle.
• At least 1 year of logistics/warehouse experience.
• Ability to operate a sit-down forklift for loading and unloading 2,000lb pallets.
• Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Familiarity with bills of lading, inventory management, and DOT regulations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Flexibility to work Monday through Sunday initially, transitioning to a fixed schedule.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Work Environment

The work environment includes first shifts from 5am to 3:30pm and second shifts from 12pm to 10:30pm. The role involves local driving between two facilities in Miramar, with no freeway driving required. The facilities are approximately 2 miles apart, and work is conducted in various conditions, including cold, hot, wet, humid, and loud environments. The team is a close-knit group of 12 people, focused on safety and teamwork. Physical demands include routine lifting of 40-60 pounds and frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.

The pay range for this position is $62192.00 - $70304.00/yr.
