Credit Underwriter

Location: Miami, FL or Remote

Description

Our client is a Trade Finance Lender and seeking a meticulous and experienced Credit Underwriter to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial analysis, with expertise in credit underwriting, particularly in the realm of Export-Import Bank (Exim Bank) foreign buyer credit or commercial credit analysis. The role requires proficiency in both English and Spanish, as well as advanced skills in Excel and financial statements spreading software programs. This position offers flexibility in terms of part-time or full-time hours and the option to work remotely.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough analysis and underwriting of 10-15 deals annually, primarily focused on companies outside the US, predominantly in Latin America, involved in importing capital goods/equipment.
• Review and analyze audited financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with underwriting standards.
• Prepare credit write-ups in English for submission to the U.S. EXIM Bank, adhering to established underwriting principles.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to gather necessary documentation and information for credit evaluations.
• Evaluate creditworthiness of borrowers and recommend appropriate credit structures.
• Maintain organized records of underwriting activities and ensure timely completion of tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance.
• Strong fluency in both written and spoken English and Spanish.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Export-Import Bank (Exim Bank) foreign buyer credit or commercial credit analysis underwriting.
• Proficiency in Excel and financial statements spreading software programs.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
• Familiarity with trade finance lending and lending practices is preferred.
