Job Description

A mission-driven real estate development and investment firm focused on affordable housing and multifamily communities is seeking a Development Associate to join its Miami-based team. The firm is actively expanding its pipeline across South Florida and is looking for a highly capable professional to take on elevated responsibilities in project execution, financing, and cross-functional coordination.

This is an excellent growth role for someone with foundational development experience who is ready to take on more ownership of complex, impactful projects.

Qualifications

  • 24+ years of experience in real estate development, affordable housing, acquisitions, construction management, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel .
  • Familiarity with affordable housing finance , LIHTC, or public funding programs is a strong plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to transfer skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead portions of the development lifecycle , including feasibility analysis, due diligence, entitlements, design coordination, financing, and construction oversight.
  • Build and refine financial models to evaluate deal feasibility, capital structures, and returns.
  • Prepare and manage funding applications (including LIHTC, local subsidies, grants, and public financing programs).
  • Assist with or lead communication among architects, engineers, consultants, governmental agencies, and community stakeholders.
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, and reporting requirements, ensuring alignment with lender, investor, and regulatory expectations.
  • Support internal investment memos, project updates, and presentations to senior leadership.
  • Conduct market research, demographic analysis, and affordability assessments relevant to the firms development pipeline.
