Full‑Time Police Officer Position (Lateral or Recently Retired) The Village of Kenilworth Police Department is recruiting lateral or recently retired candidates who are highly qualified, mature‑minded individuals to complement our police department. Candidates must be of good moral character, demonstrate sound judgment, and be sensitive to the needs of the community. Requirements Must be eligible to obtain an Illinois FOID card Must have high school diploma or equivalent Must possess a valid driver’s license Must be of good moral character Must possess State of Illinois certification from the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB) or be eligible for re‑certification Prior to final appointment, applicant must also pass the following: Background investigation / psychological evaluation Medical examination / drug screen Credit check Benefits 401(a) defined contribution plan with 7% employer contribution (must meet State eligibility requirements) Paid vacation, holiday and sick time Application packets and additional information can be found by clicking here or obtained in person at the Kenilworth Police Department, 419 Richmond Rd., Kenilworth, IL 60043.
