Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our team in a large distribution center that distributes pet food nationally. You will be responsible for manually pulling orders on a pallet jack, counting inventory, and documenting shipping and receiving. Your performance and efficiency in pulling orders will be assessed regularly. Note that all tasks are completed using pen and paper, as electronic scanners are not used.

Responsibilities

  • Manually pull orders using a pallet jack.

  • Count inventory and items on pallets accurately.

  • Shrink wrap pallets and document shipping and receiving.

  • Maintain performance and efficiency standards in order pulling.

Essential Skills

  • Prior warehouse or pulling experience.

  • Strong math skills for counting inventory and items on pallets.

  • Reliable transportation.

  • Ability to work long hours, with shifts potentially extending to 12+ hours during busy seasons.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience operating a sit-down forklift.

  • A 'hustler' demeanor.

  • Prior shipping and receiving experience.

  • Experience with forklifts, packaging, and pallet jacks.

Work Environment

The distribution center is semi-climate controlled and may have a pet food smell. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with Saturday shifts as needed. Shifts start at 6 AM and can extend up to 12 hours during busy seasons, such as holidays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oklahoma City, OK.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $14.00 - $16.00/hr.
