RSA is seeking a skilled and motivated Principal Software Engineer to help design, develop, and maintain our onprem and hybrid cloud, G&L and RSA ID Plus products . You will work on building onprem and cloudnative, scalable SaaS solutions that solve realworld enterprise security challenges.

As part of the engineering team, you will contribute to designing and delivering features for our G&L products , collaborating closely with senior engineers, product teams, and operations to ensure highquality, reliable software.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience developing objectoriented software with expertise in Java.
  • Handson experience designing, implementing, and testing cloudnative SaaS applications.
  • Strong understanding of scalability, throughput, latency, and reliability in distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with zerodowntime deployments, multinode architecture, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Knowledge of data storage strategies and ability to evaluate tradeoffs between SQL, NoSQL, and caching.
  • Practical experience with SaaS operational monitoring, observability, and incident response.
  • Understanding of secure coding practices and IAM/security concepts.
  • Familiarity with identity standards (SAML, OAuth2.0, OpenIDConnect) is preferred.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, and release management for SaaS services.
  • Handson experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and deployment automation tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Strong problemsolving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a distributed team.
  • Enthusiasm for ensuring comprehensive automated test coverage and code quality.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in computer/network security and IAM products.
  • Familiarity with relational (SQL Server, MySQL) and NoSQL databases.
  • Proficiency in Spring Framework / Spring Boot.
  • Experience integrating with directories (Active Directory, OpenLDAP).
  • Familiarity with caching technologies like Redis.
  • Knowledge of modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or similar) is a plus.
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments.

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical field required; a Masters degree is preferred.
