We are looking for a Technical Writer for an ON-SITE long-term contract opportunity in Austin, Texas.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, update, and maintain user, technical, and project process documentation to support agency initiatives
• Analyze and understand user perspectives of applications and technology to accurately document workflows and procedures
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, logical, and well-structured documentation
• Create a variety of technical materials, including articles, reports, brochures, manuals, and online documentation
• Structure procedures in a logical sequence based on a broad understanding of applications and user groups
• Provide subject-matter expertise on application functionality and technical processes to support documentation efforts
• Coordinate the layout, graphics, and overall production of technical documents to ensure clarity and usability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and validate documentation accuracy
• Work with external vendors to develop documentation supporting the implementation and integration of third-party systems
• Support documentation for custom applications and existing business processes
• Ensure documentation aligns with organizational standards, project goals, and user needs.

You:

• 8+ years of expertise working as a technical writer on technology projects to produce detailed documentation
• 8+ years of specialization in business analysis, data analysis, or process improvement
• 8+ years of hands-on involvement managing and assisting with the documentation of requirements for IT and business solutions that meet program and user needs
• 8+ years of demonstrated ability translating complex data and business requirements into actionable insights and reports
• 8+ years of project exposure working on complex projects throughout all development phases
• 8+ years of communication strength demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging stakeholders
• 8+ years of delivery capability ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
• 8+ years of analytical aptitude demonstrating strong attention to detail
• 5+ years of technical proficiency with SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and backlogs preferred
• Experience working in higher education, financial, or government systems preferred
