This position will inspect, maintain, and repair passenger locomotives, including air brakes, diesel engines, air compressors, wheels, and trucks.

This is a Union position. Starting pay rates may vary based on entry rates in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

Metra is a railroad employer subject to the provisions of the Railroad Retirement Tax Act, not the Social Security Administration.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair passenger locomotives, including air brakes, diesel engines, air compressors, wheels, and trucks.
• Oversee safety objectives, goals, and programs; ensure compliance with applicable safety rules and regulations; promote safe work practices and maintain a safe work environment.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
