Pride Health is seeking a Safety Specialist to join our client in Richmond, TX 77407 . The Safety Specialist will support workplace safety, compliance, and process improvement by conducting audits, training employees, and ensuring adherence to OSHA and company standards. This is a contract role with both day and night shift opportunities.

  • Location: Richmond, TX 77407
  • Shift Schedules: Night shift - Wed-Sat/ Sun- Wed
  • Contract Length: 3 Months with possible extension
  • Pay Rate: $40 - $44.97/hour (*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, and education.)

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify compliance issues, risks, and improvement opportunities through daily, weekly, and monthly audits.
  • Facilitate investigations and maintain all required compliance documentation.
  • Enter information into internal safety databases in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform observations, audits, and incident reviews.
  • Train and assist Area Managers and team members in safety responsibilities, rules, and audit processes.
  • Deliver safety-specific training as directed by management.
  • Support fire prevention, hazardous waste management, and other related safety initiatives.
  • Participate in process improvement activities and manage corrective actions to completion.

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) or a related field, OR a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in sensitive workplace situations.
  • Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Experience leading safety initiatives or managing a safety team.
  • Familiarity with accident investigation, hazard analysis, and job safety assessments.
  • Background in worker’s compensation case management and safety response procedures.
  • Previous experience in healthcare, industrial, or manufacturing safety environments.
  • Demonstrated passion for workplace safety and employee well-being.
