Job Duties: Workers will perform a variety of tasks associated with the production and post-harvest handling of edible beans. Duties include tending to 51 acres of research plots using automated equipment, operating farm machinery such as tractors, trucks, forklifts, skid steers, and other processing equipment. Responsibilities involve transporting produce, water, and supplies between fields, storage facilities, and the elevator. Workers will assist with the processing and packaging of beans and prepare product for shipment using railroad cars and semi-trucks. All transportation tasks fall under state farm trucking exemptions and do not require a commercial driver’s license. The position requires the ability to follow safety protocols and execute tasks with attention to detail in a dynamic, technology-driven agricultural setting.

Special Requirements: Minimum of 3 months experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Skill Level II Experienced LevelPursuant to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H-2A occupations, the employer designates this position as Skill Level II Experienced Level, indicating that the job requires prior related experience, independent judgment in performing recurring tasks, and the ability to work with limited supervision.
