Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Forensic Electrical Engineer to join our investigative team. The role involves conducting forensic evaluations of electrical systems and components to determine the cause and origin of failures, particularly those resulting in fires. The ideal candidate has a strong background in electrical fire investigations, root cause analysis, and technical report writing. Key Responsibilities Conduct on‑site forensic investigations of electrical systems, components, and fire scenes. Identify and evaluate the cause and origin of electrical failures, including those suspected in fire‑related incidents. Collaborate with fire investigators, insurance adjusters, and legal teams to support claims and litigation. Perform root cause analysis using accepted engineering and forensic methodologies. Develop detailed technical reports that are clear, concise, and defensible for legal or insurance purposes. Provide expert opinions and, when required, testimony in legal proceedings. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Active and valid Professional Engineer (PE) license. Minimum 5 years of experience in forensic electrical engineering or related investigative roles. Demonstrated experience in electrical fire investigation and cause/origin determination. Strong technical writing and communication skills. Requirements Professional Engineering (PE) License – Must hold a current and valid PE license in electrical engineering. Forensic Electrical Engineering Experience – Minimum of 5 years of experience in forensic investigations involving electrical systems and components. Cause & Origin Determination – Proven ability to determine the cause and origin of electrical failures, malfunctions, and incidents. Fire Investigation Expertise – Experience in conducting electrical fire investigations, including analyzing potential electrical sources of ignition. Technical Report Writing – Strong technical writing skills to produce clear, accurate, and defensible reports for use in insurance, legal, or regulatory contexts. #J-18808-Ljbffr Ascot Pierce LLC
