Systems Administrator Country Intelligence Group is seeking a Full-Time Systems Administrator to support our client in the management, optimization, and security compliance of mission-critical Linux/Unix systems in Fort Meade, MD. The selected candidate will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and enhancing server environments and virtualized infrastructures, ensuring enterprise systems operate reliably and securely. This role includes implementing automation to improve system performance, conducting OS level troubleshooting, and supporting physical and virtual network deployments. Tasks Performed: • Configure and manage Linux/Unix operating systems, applying automation
techniques to improve system reliability and performance. • Install and load operating system software, ensuring successful deployments and
long-term integrity. • Troubleshoot and remediate system and hardware issues, providing end-to-end
resolution and documentation throughout the process. • Apply security patches and updates to operating systems in accordance with
enterprise/network security compliance requirements. • Configure network components in virtualized environments, including Cisco
ASA/Firepower and Palo Alto Firewalls. • Support physical infrastructure by cabling, racking, stacking, and documenting IT
systems (client devices, servers, storage, and network hardware). • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure systems align with mission and
enterprise IT objectives. Education, Experience
and Qualifications: • Minimum high school diploma/GED with at least 20 years of relevant experience. • Bachelor’s degree in communication engineering, computer engineering, computer
science, electrical engineering or information systems with at least 15 years of
relevant experience. • CWIP IAT 3 certification. • Experience configuring and managing Linux/Unix operating systems; implementing
automation/enhancements to improve reliability and performance. • Experience installing/loading operating system software, troubleshooting, and
maintaining integrity. • Experience configuring network components in virtualized infrastructures - e.g.
Cisco ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto Firewalls. • Experience patching operating systems to maintain enterprise/network security
compliance. • Experience cabling, racking/stacking, and documenting IT systems for client,
server, storage, network devices, etc. • Experience remediating system and hardware problems throughout the resolution
process. • Experience with: o Linux / Unix command-line o Scripting (Bash) o Docker o Kubernetes o Ansible (Playbooks), Puppet o Virtual Machine / IPSEC / VPN Tunnel (ASA to ASA) o STE/STN; IAVA Patching Other Job
