Travel LPN – GI Overflow Unit

Location: Rochester, NY

Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: Day, 3x12-Hour (07:00 AM – 07:00 PM)

Pay: $26 – $32/hr

Job Summary:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled LPN to support a temporary GI Overflow Unit, a med/surg telemetry unit designed to accommodate emergency department boarder patients. Patient volume may fluctuate based on demand. The LPN will provide direct patient care, administer treatments and procedures, and collaborate closely with RNs and physicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide care for med/surg telemetry patients, including ED boarders

  • Administer medications and treatments (IM, SQ, ear/eye drops, NG/G tube care, oxygen administration)

  • Perform patient care procedures including feeding tube management, Foley catheter insertion, ambulation, bathing, and oral care

  • Monitor vital signs and blood glucose

  • Communicate patient status to RNs and physicians using SBAR for ED patients; verbal report for other admissions/transfers

  • Follow isolation precautions and infection control guidelines

  • Assist with admissions and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team

  • Float to other med/surg patients as needed

  • Participate in weekend coverage every other week

  • Document patient care in EPIC

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in med/surg, telemetry, or emergency department

  • Ability to provide safe, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment

  • Familiarity with feeding tubes, Foley catheters, oxygen administration, and patient monitoring

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

  • Previous charge experience preferred

  • BLS Certification required

  • EPIC experience required
